The Very Reverend Clarke French, Rector

Clarke1Fr. French became the 13th rector of Trinity Church in September 2006. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Clarke is a twice graduate of Trinity College at the University of Toronto, where as an undergraduate he studied political theory and German. He completed his master of divinity degree in 1999. Ordained that year in the Anglican Church of Canada, Fr. French has served parishes in and around Edmonton as well as New York City. On Oct. 26, 2006, Bishop Adams officially received Fr. French as a priest in the Episcopal Church at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Syracuse.

While the vast majority of his ministry has been happily spent as a parish priest, the Rector has over the years also been extensively involved in the Cursillo movement, has served as a regional dean, and was the spiritual director for the Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) program in the Diocese of Edmonton.

Clarke is married to Sally, also an Episcopal priest, who is a licensed Christian Pilgrim Leader in the Holy Land. Sally routinely leads groups of Christian pilgrims throughout the Middle East. Together they are the proud parents of Jack and Libby.

Kyle P. Ramey, Organist & Choirmaster

KyleatconsoleKyle became the 21st organist and choirmaster of Trinity Church in February 2006. He is responsible for conducting Trinity’s vocal and handbell choirs, administering the Trinity Concert Series, and serving as parish organist.

In addition to being a church musician, Kyle is a founding member of Reverberation, a professional handbell choir based in Bucks County, Pa. Mr. Ramey has also served as assistant conductor of the world renowned Westminster Concert Handbell Choir. During his tenure with this choir, Mr. Ramey appeared on NBC TV’s “Today Show” and on Public Television’s “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” In addition, he was featured conducting the choir on National Public Radio and has toured five times with the choir throughout the continental United States.

Kyle has been a member and guest conductor of the River Ringers Handbell Choir in Watertown and has served as a grant review panel member for the New York State Council on the Arts. As a singer and accompanist, Kyle has performed works with many organizations including the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Trenton Symphony Orchestra well as with the Ridgewood Symphony (N.J.), the Raritan Valley Choral Society (N.J.) and Northern Choral Society.

As an organist, Mr. Ramey has performed throughout the United States, having most recently appeared in recital at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City. Other engagements have included sessions with the National Association of Schools of Music, the American Guild of Organists and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, as well as the Chorister’s Guild. Kyle received a bachelor of music cum laude in organ performance from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, N.J., studying with the late Eugene Roan.

 

The Reverend Deacon Douglas Marlow

Windows Photo Gallery WallpaperDeacon Marlow was assigned to Trinity Church in May 2008 and previously had served the Shared Episcopal Ministry of Northern New York since 2006. He was ordained to the Diaconate in 1990, after completion of a five-year formation program with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg.  He completed the formation program at Mater Dei College and attended Wadhams Hall Seminary College, both in Ogdensburg. He served for 14 years before being received by Bishop Adams as an Episcopal deacon on the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Oct. 4, 2006.

As North Country District Liaison for Evangelization under the Dean of the District, he is a resource for local parishes in developing programs to assist local faith communities in reaching out to those in their geographic area who may be interested in being a part of the Episcopal Church.  He also is the Diocesan Jubilee Officer and chairman of both the Diocesan Commission for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation and the Diocesan Property Committee.  He also serves on the Diocesan Board and as a member of its Mission and Ministry Committee.  He also is a member of the Family Planning Advocate’s Board in Albany and coordinator for Clergy for Choice in Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Clinton and Franklin counties.

As a member of the team at Trinity, Deacon Doug is involved in ministry to newcomers, to those interested in becoming members of the Episcopal Church. He also is involved in pastoral care for those who are unable to attend regular Eucharist because of illness or confinement; participates in religious education, and works with the young people of the parish.

A native of Malone, he is married to the former Barbara Clark of Deferiet, who works for the Watertown City School District as a school registered nurse at Knickerbocker School. They are the parents of four daughters, Alexis Kadleck and Lydia Marlow, both of San Antonio, Texas, and Michelle Stephens and Nora Marlow, both of Watertown. They have two granddaughters, Michaela Stephens and Alyce Kadleck.

Sue Ebersol DeMar, Parish Administrator

Sue has been parish administrator since Feb. 2, 2009. A Watertown native, she graduated in 1980 from South Jefferson Central School, Adams, and in 1984 from St. Lawrence University, Canton, with a bachelor of arts degree in religious studies.

Before joining the Trinity staff, she had been employed for 15 years at the Watertown Daily Times, where she was a news clerk and, since 2007, was chief news clerk.

Her daughter, Ashley M. DeMar, is a member of the South Jefferson Central Class of 2010 and joins the Class of 2014 this fall at Niagara University, where she plans to major in theater.

Sandra D. DeLong, Bookkeeper

SandySandy has been bookkeeper at Trinity Church since 1997.  She works a variable schedule but is at church most Tuesdays.  You may leave a message for her at any time by calling the parish office.
